THE PAULA

In my first year of Sixth Form this was my final project. We were tasked to create a wooden furniture item for our friends or family. I chose to do a sewing table for my mum as she struggles to find a comfortable place to do her sewing.

I looked at many different sewing tables that are already available to get a gauge on the basics of what needs to be included. I found that a lot of the tables had a large slot that could fit a sewing machine so I decided to incorporate it into the table.

To make the table easy to move without lifting as it's incredibly heavy, I added castor wheels to each leg. Each castor has a brake which prevents the table from sliding around while in use.
