LAID BACK BIKE

For my first year of university, my final project was to work in a group to make a recumbent bike using scrap bike parts, bamboo and fibreglass.

Our group had a lot of fun making this bike. We may have over complicated a few things but I think the overall design idea has a lot of potential.

Having the steering linked with a chain looks really unique and I've never seen this on bike before.

The pedals are very small so you won't be going very fast but they had to be so that the pedals didn't scrape on the floor.

We put a very long guiding tube for the chain to help prevent it from rattling around too much and to stop it from disengaging with the gears.

The basket on the back was just to prove that it could be used to go to the shops and get some items if you really wanted to.

We didn't win any races but we had a lot of fun building it.
